Question on water pump block off....

I do not have a heater anymore (heater delete)....so is it ok to block off the outlet and inlet for the heater hoses to the water pump? I plan on keeping the manifold to the top of the water pump hose in place.
Should I drill a small hole in the thermostat for some circulation until it opens?

You can block off those ports and with no other changes,have no problems with your cooling system.The only time it's necessary to drill the thermostat is if you've eliminated the by pass hose.

I thought that was the case. The looped hose always looked "not so good". I am keeping the by pass hose....thanks for the update...
