Rear main seal leak??

Yes LA. Cleaned the bore on both installs. I really expected the sealer to make up any gaps. The plug goes in as tight as any other plugs i've installed.

If there are any gouges, you could fill them with epoxy then dress them down.
I like to use #2 non hardening permatex for sealer for freeze plugs.

Could also use red loctite as a sealant. Must dry overnight though. Anerobic sealant also works great. It must dry overnight as well.

Red Loctite is anerobic. It doesn't "dry", it cures.

Yes, in the absence of air 55Brodie, opposed to needing air to dry (cure).
