Rear P case, codes and part number help

Looking for some help on decoding a date code and part number on a P-case posi. 55-64 CHEVY POSI UNIT, DATE-C-18-4 part number stamped #3789812. Any help or a site for the info would be great. Thanks....

Try this one. I usually start with a search on the tri five chevy parts first, since that is what I am most familiar with. In this case, the same rearend was used starting in 1955.
