With that cam[0950 I think],5500 maybe on a 348,but that extra .250 stroke on his 380 will lower the peaks by 4-500 rpm. That 66 Imp is fairly heavy so this cam will make it a low rpm tire killer! Hopefully they can start the dyno pulls down in the 2,000-2500 range so we can get an idea of what's available down in the rpm range where it'll be used most often.

If I remember right Don it was a 951 cam. I remember we did that on purpose to get the torque at 4000 down. With that 700r4 And 373 I’ll have to get shares in a tire ccpany!:taunt

I wasn't trying to second guess you Don just pointing out that the curve would probably still be going up at 5000 and that he would probably need to go to 5500 to find the peak.

This is a fairly unique build John, this is why I want to run it on a dyno. I need it broke in anyway and the extra cost it’s worth knowing for everybody here. I think we are all guessing close but even I have no idea. This time next week we’ll either be wowed or it’s a dud! Lol I’m certainly hoping for the first. Alynn is as old school as they get and he’s run these engines back in the 60’s. Whatever power is there he’ll get it out. I think Jim sullivan built one similar a while back.

Mines still not finished. Too many other projects. Good luck on the dyno, looking forward to hearing what kind of numbers you get.

All ready for Dyno day! Don’t look at the valve covers!!!!! They are temporary because the new ones haven’t come yet. I had to modify those and beat out the ends of the covers to clear the rocker studs. I’ll make it pretty later!
