Nothing wrong with them! Except they are a lot of work unless you're a native. We've got 'em out here but for some reason the LA ones are better.

When I was a kid I would go down to a slough in Stockton CA with a net to get crayfish for bait. Back then you could just wade out and dip the net and get all you wanted. I did that until I saw this snake swimming with the head the size of a softball. I didn't get back in that water after that :confused

I didn’t laugh in a mean way, the older version of us looks back on those things and laughs! Had a lobster grab my thumb when I was a kid and scared the crap out of me! Them bastards are strong!!!

Now that the paint is dry, crank, cam and chain is in I thought I’d do a mock up to make sure things fit. Timing cover is on for good but made sure all the holes lined up on the pan. Had to make bolts for the cover and pan as I couldn’t get stainless in the size I wanted.

Today I started to put the pistons in the holes. I either have 6 rods all backwards or just 2. The rods have a big chamfer Side and rod caps have pointers for that side. Didn’t notice until half way through. Do the pointers (that side is the big chamfer) point out or at each other?they are BBC Eagle I beam 6.385

Thanks James, I think I have to take 4 rods apart. Getting the coil wrist pin retainers out of the Piston should be fun. Funny there was no instructions that they were directional. I always learn the hardway!:read:furious:doh
