I talked to Ed Anderson today. I asked if there was any chance that Ed Schartman would be interested in attending the shootout. He told me that it might be possible:bow , and that he would contact Ed in the next few weeks and ask, or maybe beg him to attend. Boy, maybe if someone could get Hayden to attend,:love just sayen??? Maybe his car too. My God !!! could all this happen:pray

Anyone running in the 9s or faster will need a engine diaper, attached is a link to multiple ones from summit racing from $129.99 and up some of our guys I’ve spoken with have used the cheaper ones with good results. https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/engine-diapers?SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending&tw=Engine diap&sw=Engine Diapers
To bad, I've talked personally to more than one that will not diaper their car. I personally do not have a horse in this race but can sympathize with their situation. Let's see if we can work together to get these guys out with us.

NHRA requirements are based off of class and not e.t.. More and more tracks however are requiring them. Cordova is 10.99 and quicker, Byron is 9.99, Central Illinois dragstrip (1/8 mile) is 6.99 or quicker. It's a good thing not only for track clean up but safety for the racer and the guy/gal in the other lane who you might run into when you get oil and water under you tires. I know I would feel pretty stupid if I had to spend thousands of dollars fixing a wrecked race car knowing I could of spent a few hundred and prevented it. I have a DJ safety I ordered through Orme Brothers. It's sfi rated and made of ballistic nylon with metal hardware. Fits awesome and they made it with openings for side engine mounts and the clutch cross shaft for no charge. I did get the strap across the back of the pan which is very nice. $320 bucks. Most if not all of the cheap ones fit like crap and are no stronger than a cheap gym bag with plastic buckles. It only takes an extra five minutes to change oil. I do have fenderwell headers which helps but kevlar straps are an option if headers are close. I can take pictures if anyone wants to see it installed. Cheap insurance!!!!!!!!!!
