Its tough to come back from a mechanical failure. Especially when you might have other things that you have been putting off or would like to change while its all pulled apart. I think Dan is making the hard smart choice. You know he will only be faster when he is up and running again. :burnout
This is exactly right. While it’s in the air, I need to step up from my 35 spline axles to 40. I’ve had odd wear with my slicks for some time now. The consensus is a bent housing or axles are flexing. The housing is perfect so that leaves one thing. Now I’m afraid the axle may break from fatigue. Makes me nervous. So the money for 42 will have to go towards the upgrade.......if I can even do that. It’s been a crappy year.

Call Max at Quick Performance for an axle quote... In Ames IA... These guys are straight shooters! 515.232.0126 do you have a back brace on your hsg?
My 35 spline are guaranteed to 1500 horsepower. The axles bearings and housing were $678 delivered to my house . 20180915_072912.jpg20190605_194704.jpg

It's a Strange HD housing with a back brace and bracing on the bottom. I'm going with Strange for the 40 spline axles and spool. They are the second best out there (Mark Willams being first), they are fifteen minutes away, and I can get a bit of a discount.

Sweet, quick performance makes the heavy-duty housings too and they have larger axle tube diameters oh, and they also weld them solid inside and out. They use Calvert racing mounts brackets and purches ect. The street outlaws and the no prep guys use them all the time. THEY MAKE 3000 HP with pro chargers and turbos. Just a thought. Good luck!!!!

my 31 spline is more than enough for my application. Unless my motor builder talks me into a stupid turbo/nitrous. Might create more problems than my wallet can handle.

Our 409 class is being sponsored by Firelands Chevrolet Buick. Everybody that was there last year enjoyed it and thought it was a great track. we got lots of runs in and the weather is pretty decent that time of the year. The event is from August 23-25th with arrival and parking on the 22nd if you want to get there early. They have bands on Friday and Saturday and this event is only going to get bigger. Let’s make an impression they won’t forget! Message me here or in a pm and I’ll put you on the list. Let’s get some east coasters on the list too we miss you guys.
Here's the phone number for golf car rental the track gave me. 440-775-1300 C&C Sales, Overland. You may want to put that number with the other track info you post from time to time??
