RPO P05 chrome wheels

The guy I bought my 1963 Bel Air from had the original chrome wheels replated. He had baby moons on those wheels. He also had the original regular/dogdish/poverty caps in the trunk. I put the original caps back on the wheels.

In researching the P05 option I found that 893 Chevrolets with that option were sold in 1963. It cost $64.60 back then. According to the assembly manual the 4 regular hubcaps were placed in the trunk of the car for install during dealer prep.

Love those factory Chrome Wheels and they were probably what started, or helped popularize, the Chrome Reverse craze of the '60's.

I tried having some Chrome Reverse replated and could never find anyone who wanted to tackle it. This was years ago though.

I had a set of those on my 64 Malibu back in the day. I remember they resembled chrome reverse wheels.
I got mine at the local Chevy dealer.
