Here you go boys. Tracks everywhere are getting stupid. Only takes one cap to spin off a car at 130mph to kill someone in the stands. https://www.admcars.com/1963-chevro...ket-seats-4spd-c-137.htm?year=1963&sold=Sold&

Stock appearing assocation to drag race or not, get those caps off! I'm seeing wheel hub caps more and more going down the track. No worries, the chevelle was only doing 130mph, the 63' with a 327 made it into the 12's so 100mph plus.

I only classified cars at Cecil County Drag-O-Way for a few years in the early 60s but hubcaps had to be removed back then. I think Stock appearing racing is pretty cool but fully agree hub caps should NOT be part of the program! :rantoff
I was at a sprint car race and watched a lady in the stands get hit with some part off a sprint car about 100' away from me. A dog dish at 50mph is deadly.

Summer 1966, Niagara Drag Strip. I was racing my 63 Corvette and tech and myself forgot to remove the full
wheel discs on my 63.......:doh. As I approached the line an official waved me back pointing and yelling to "get those f...in'
hub caps off"......:salute. Rather embarrassing as I had to reverse at the line to the staging area and comply......:gamer
Back in the day you could not run with hub caps attached.........:good

I'm going to raise a stink the next time I see it. I'm always just surprised the driver, tech and stage lane manager don't catch it. That is 3 levels of people who know better. I'll be rocking my dog dishes on the street but will remove them on the interstate and while racing. Lost a hubcap on the interstate once. So mad.

I installed longer studs a few years ago. Here is a quote from NHRA rules.

"The thread engagement on all wheel studs to the lug nut, or lug bolts to wheel hubs, must be equivalent to or greater than the diameter of the stud/bolt. Length of the stud/bolt does not determine permissibility. (Example: A 7/16-inch stud must be thoroughly engaged through the threads in the hex portion of the lug a minimum of 7/16-inch.)"
