Severe Weather Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for extreme Northwest Florida Panhandle. Schools and businesses are closed Wednesday for an indefinite period. The temperature may drop into the low 20s. Wind speed could reach 15 MPH, dropping the wind chill to fatal levels. Duct tape and blue tarp prices, for covering palm trees, have quadrupled. Heavy snow fall could reach an-unheard-of level of .1 inch. Freezing rain could put up to .05 inch on the sidewalks. Studded tires are back ordered. Sand trucks are standing by. Florida Highway Patrol have recalled all officers for riot duty. Because this massive weather event is forecast to last up to 6 hours, food stores are bare and people are panicky. Lines for gasoline are endless with frequent fighting over places in line. It is going to get ugly out there, folks. I'm staying home and pressure washing the driveway. :D:D

All joking aside...for you members who dont have enough ice and snow to really learn how to drive in it..with automatic transmissions, when coming to a stop or in stop and go traffic put the trans into Neutral. You see cars with brakes locked up but drive tires continue to spin, thats because the engine is overcoming the braking ability. Thats when you crash into the car in front of you or slude into the tree or ditch. Also when crossing a bridge or culvert (notice the frost on concrete over culverts and buried water pipes) lift your foot off the gas a hair so back of car doesnt come around on you. Theres many more winter driving tips if anyones interested or care to share.
