If you can get the 3/8 studs in thee needed length you shouldn't need to worry about breakage unless the spring pressure is crazy high.I personally know of a members 474 that's using the 3/8 studs[not factory but ARP]and has been doing it for years along with the same rocker that you have.He runs the crap out of it and has by his admission tuned it to insane rpms without any sign of a problem.Those studs look like they're not the right length given how far down the lock nut is set in those poly locks.Push rods too long?

Ok I am back on to get the motor fixed. Been too busy the past month to touch it. There is hardly any stud in the nut. I am also seeing lots of deflection. A couple of the studs a rubbing a little on the cover. There's alot of movement. Girdles available?
