Steering linkage

Got a good question. Why did some joints not get grease fittings?

Example, pitman to center link joint has none and my idler arm has a fitting on one joint but not the other. Both appear to be factory parts.

2nd part of the question, is it possible to add one? Looks simple enough, just drill a hole and screw in a self tapping grease fitting. Not sure if I'd bother since this cars hard labor days are over and if it made it this far...

Inquiring minds want to know. :D

So why would one joint on an idler arm have a grease fitting and not the other?

I don't know why they do that Bob,but if you're that worried about, just add your own.As you yourself said, the cars hardest days are behind it,so yes you ARE overthinking it as it'll likely never need replacement in your lifetime.:ok
