Just bought a 348 with this suffix code stamped in it, TI2I78C

Haven't been able to find a reference to that code here on the site.

Anyone got a clue what it means?

Thanks

Could this be a later model truck motor? They didn't get into the 38 series numbers until 1962 :dunno

I don't know if it's a truck application or a tractor/combine code but I have a 3798962 348 block with a similar alpha-numeric code that doesn't make sense....as I recall it was a 2C suffix. This block was a CFD casting with Julian date and the X on the front. I believe it was the 348 block used after the 011 went out of production at the end of the 61 model year until the 655 block replaced it in late 64 or 65.:scratch

Looks all truck/ industrial. truck valve covers, truck green paint, truck t-stat housing, 2v carb on adaptor. Maybe combine or water pump by the looks of the bell housing adaptor. hard to see:coffee:
