Tailgate storage

The original 91 tailgate required no tools and less than a minute to remove. I put the later style bolts with the Torx fasteners on it to slow that process down. I came out one day to find my tailgate loose on one side, I suspect that somewhere someone tried to steal it. The gate shown here has the side cables and bolts that I used. Still got the truck, still got the tailgate.

So they just steal the whole tailgate ???
So the tailgate is so bent that I can't even get it removed from the bed. I also replaced the lock cylinder, so that works. The insert is prefab. I just had to save the money to buy it. And get the polycarbonate protective cover installed. The previous owner thought it was a good idea to load up his large New Holland tractor in the bed, without removing the tailgate. So that's what bent it inward. And ruined the release thing on the driver's side.
