Went to Island Dragway in New Jersey. They had full house

3rd run was still better10.906 120.27,60ft was 1.535.

for the four run I changed carb, off with the 600cfm
installed 750cfm.
hooked hard 60ft was a 1.497 ran a 10.800 at 121.54
that was at 3:15 in the afternoon air denity was going away.

Had good day just wish I could have had 2 or 3 runs alittle

For those of us that aren't familiar with you please tell us about your motor/trans/rear end/tires. Sounds like a screamer. Congratulations!

Rick
I will start with the easy stuff first.
1962 Impala 2 door Hardtop.

Tires; Phoenix radial's 30x9x15 on 15 x8 Aluma Star rims.

Axle; is a 12 bolt with 4.88 gears on a full spool, 31 spline
Moser axial. boxed lower control arms. 2 adjustable top links
1 air bag in right rear spring, also have air shocks mounted
It depends on the conditions of the track and the hook on
which I will use.

Inland Empire drive shaft, 3 in. with hard urthane center support,
it uses a slip yoke behind the center support.

Trans; GM 400 turb hyd. build by Trans Specialty, Rev valve body,
no special gearing.
TransSpecialty Torque Converter, Approx stall 3200rpm, also have a Coan
4000 Rpm stall that I have used.

Motor; 450 cc in. w- block, 427 steel crank 3.75', bored .060, Lemar Waldon
pistons designed orginally for 13 to 1. they are less than that after we cut
the valve relief for the cam that was used.
Cam: is a Bullet Racing Cam With 683 int and 669 ex lift.
Heads where 690's with 2.19 intake and 1.72ex Ferrea Valves.
Intake: At the moment it is a Lemar Waldon 2x4 modifed intake.
2 -600 Edelbrock Carbs, MSD Small block Dist.

I think that is enough for now, if I tell you any more I probality would
have to shoot you. Because you would know more than me and we couldn't,
have that. ;)

Allen- Thanks for revealing some of the details. I'll never live long enough to know what a lot of you experienced wrenches contribute to this site. It's really fun to belong to a group where members feel good about discussing these things.
Again, congratulations on your success! Rick
