tilt 4-speed column 1963 or 1964 ?????

how do you tell a 1963 tilt floor shift column from a 1964

Apparently the collar below the steering wheel hubs have a different part numbers in 63 & 64 and are slightly different in dia. to match the different dia. of the steering wheel hubs. Leo

The 63 column has a larger diameter for the steering wheel hub. The OD of the hub on my 63 tilt/tach, floor shift column is 3 7/8". The 64 is smaller approx 1/4" or more.

thanks this one is 3 1/2 so its 64 its in a 1953 chevy truck that a friend has and is getting rid of just noticed that it has this column so I can have it but have to put another column in to replace it thanks jim
