No, it is super nice. And he did not really seem interested in me buying it, however I did not ask him about buying it but I know he’s got a lot of projects. He’s a young guy though with lots of enthusiasm and ideas. It’s just hard to believe that there’s that many of them cars that close to him. The one I bought from him is going to need some floor pans and some patch panels and some TLC. But here in Missouri that car is pretty solid for a builder. i’m not restoring the car To perfect or building a show car. I’m building a driver and making it mine, which will be one of a kind. And I plan on driving the heck out of it! And yes I will go play with the boys at the track. At least that’s my plan and my dream.:read:think If you’re really interested in it you should PM and ask.

Man what a tribute, that cannon is friggin cool:goodPepper grinder! Thats great:D Sent Tooth all the 'revealing' pics of the Pepper Grinder including two lucky rabbit feet in the trunk (those are going back to MO with you;)) and if he's not discouraged yet, this car just found the best home it's had since owner #1.

I probably sound very greedy saying this, but it'd take quite a bit of coin and a water board to pry that green 63 out of my grubby d--k beaters. Sold new in Denver and parked since 1972, it has the cleanest sheet metal I've ever seen on a 63...

I am quickly learning what my limits are tho. If I sell any x-frame chevy, you will see it here first.

So Monday I went to my aunts funeral where my cousin her brother’s son kevin fired off a salute at her funeral with my uncle’s Canon, it’s a 3 inch cannon and he bought it in like 86 or 87 at Dixie gun works in Union City Tennessee. He and my dad‘s best friendBuilt the oak cart for it and 86 or 87. Here’s a picture of the projectile we were shooting, we also shot some ball bearings and golf balls out of it. Pretty crazy stuff. We were using 1200 grains of black powder and blue jeans for a wad. Dynamite fuse to light the bang. It can’t always be about cars! LOL

James you and Tooth have fun today, thanks for your help on my project :). I learned something about running stainless steel brake lines :).

I'd come and join you two, haven't seen Tooth's place since he moved, but I have a set of meetings at 10 o'clock and another at 2:00 PM today.

I plan to continue the hunt for those two steering column clamps... I'm sure to stumble upon something I didn't know I had!

You guys have fun!

Tom, tomorrow Saturday the 27th I'm going to warm the shop up James is coming out we're going to put in the split mono Leaf Calvert springs on the beater Nova. Probably change the center section 2 and put the 370 gear in it. Also have a 6A L box one of my previous hot rods that I will install in the beater Nova. Come on out I'll text you the address if you're interested in coming out. We should be rolling pretty good about 10 in the morning Saturday the 27th. Or I should say lifting the car in the air on the car hoist pretty good at that time.:dance

Road trip! so James and I had planned to put some upgrades on the beater nova like the split mono leaf springs change the gears and maybe a couple other little things. He called me this morning and let me know he was on his way and I got a phone call from another friend named Jeff. He asked me if I’ve ever bought anything off of eBay, I told him a few little things. He was telling me about a 63 Belair that has been sitting in the garage for 10 years and had 65,000 miles on it. It was a Kansas City built car it has a six cylinder and a three speed on the column. I said sounds cool he says I’m trying to go and take a look at it if I can get him to commit to me coming up. I said cool, he said what are you doing today I said well James just called and he’s coming up and we’re gonna put the springs and stuff on my car. He asked if James would go and we could all go together I said probably so. So James got here and he was tickled to go. Also gives him an in for him to have his 409 machine work done. He is the Jeff that is doing my 348 and 409. And by the way it’s going to get sleeved and board and decked probably next week. Then we get to figure out the compression and the deck height and all that stuff to make it right. May have to cut the Pistons but not sure yet. Funny thing about Ross pistons scribed on the inside of the piston next to the wrist pin there’s a number that’s called a build number. You can call them and give them that number and they can build exact duplicates or make them .060, .070 etc. so James and I met with Jeff and we went to Nolan Road area in Kansas City and looked at this car here are the pics it was amazing been sitting for 10 years started right up. He hasn’t drove it but he’s kept it running he’s going blind. He also has a 59 Corvette and a 55 Chevy four-door Belair with a 265 powerglide in it. Rust free.

This 63 Belair was truly amazing, and the only rust on the car was a little bit of surface rust where it was sitting in the garage and in the moisture was coming up from the floor. Not terrible at all no rust holes anywhere, all the braces and all the metal was there all the mounts for the body were there. The only rust I could see on the whole car was worth the filler neck goes down and there’s a hole where it collects a little bit of crud there was a spot the size of a dime in the truck on the left side or the same meets the vertical riser for the spare. I have never seen a car this old that had doors that shit like this one did it was amazing in the quarter panels by the rear quarter glasses were even cracked from people slamming the doors. Today the bid was $10,800. My prediction is it will go for 24,000 and be well worth it. I would put a W motor in it in a four-speed in it and drive it. I would probably have the bottom detailed and re-painted to keep from spreading rust. I wouldn’t do anything else to it except drive it. Very much a honey of a 63 Belair!!!

meanwhile back at my ranch with a little delay, James and I were able to switch out the flat factory springs for the two piece mono leaf Calvert Springs. Everything came apart fairly well except for one bolt in the rear shackle on the top. But I use the air chisel hit it in an angle and it came right and then after much sweating and hand cramping. I’m talking about James because he’s old you know. I offered my 20 ton press to straighten his fingers out if needed.:confused Here’s a few pictures of the beater nova and it raises the stance in the back about an inch and a half to 2 inches which was fine by me. Now I have all the tire clearance in the world! Thank you very much Mr. Schrader you are truly a friend and a blessing for me! And you know I will return the favor of supervision any day. So now I can maybe go out tomorrow and burn a tire!4154301B-793B-4C0A-A620-12C1A804F387.jpeg2F5D48A2-6A28-4947-89D6-3D82D38AA108.jpeg7D8E337B-783E-472A-9D9B-7DD727D6C12C.jpeg51F113C1-5D27-4025-ADF3-888E2B334B8E.jpeg

I had fun, the stubborn nut wasn't near as bad as it could have been. :good
That 63 was a joy to look at, don't get to see these cars with no rust very often. Fun to see what they looked like from the General. :good
Other than trying to let the air out of my head trying to adjust your fun pump it was pretty painless. :D

It’s probably going to be for sale soon. He said he was going to sell the 59 Corvette and the 55 four-door Belair. You can see the 59 vet in the picture with Jeff on the left side of his back. It has a car cover on it and I didn’t take it off to look at it or take any pictures of it. But I could get his phone number from Jeff and you can call him and talk to him and go take a look at it. It’s down by Nolan Road and 350 highway.:dunno

I feel sorry for him :sorry2and told him that, all them cool hot rods that run and drive, And he is unable to drive any of them because he’s going blind. Sad sad story! I say take every day as a special day and do everything you can because you never know what’s in store for your future. Might not be so good, but it might be really good. Never know what’s coming so take advantage every day!
