I an not using an E brake with my disc set up. I talked to Max at QP and he said it would need modified and might not work. I decided not to use one at this time. I have a chalk block. and am selective where I park. also my super T 10 has a 288 1st gear... MAX at QP might have your answer. I think I saw a video on youtube with the fix for this problem.
It looks like they flip the bracket around to the front side with the caliper and pads in the front. I'm not sure I would do that but there are several videos this is just one.
I had to reclock the caliper.

So it's been a hot summer, many days in the mid-to-upper 90s around here. I've been managing to go out early in the mornings to go cruising before it gets too hot. I've had a blast driving this big block for Speed car. And have not regretted putting in the good parts at all. Always starts always runs and always gets me where I'm going and back home.
Not too long ago I built a drive shaft Loop James has been hinting that I need to take it down the straight track, and he's right. Everything should be broke in by now, took the valve covers off tonight and check the valve lash looked for anything loose and was making sure it was all happy underneath the valve covers.:good and it was very happy! All my spark plugs looked identical and they had a burn area on the electrode ground strap that went back to where the radius turns down to the threads. the burn on the plugs is perfect and the Gap is .035..... I sent some pictures of James and showed him and he said looks happy. I picked up some new Rally wheels with a 5 inch backspace and some 255 60 15 drag radials.
Got the beater Nova all put back together and was really pleased. I have taken some friends on some rides and have not shown it any Mercy:hide:yikes I guess my goal was to put good quality Parts in it so I wouldn't have any trouble and so far that's the way it's been. Here are some pics of it with the valve covers off oh, I've even drove it enough that all the paint has burn off the headers. I guess now someday soon I'll need to get some ceramic coated ones.20190903_173226.jpg20190903_173250.jpg20190903_201126.jpg

Picked up my new Hoosier slicks today and Mounted/balanced them on a set of 15 x 8 Rally wheels with a 5-inch backspace. Seem to fit pretty good. I have an inch of clearance on the inside and the out. I think I'm going to roll my outer fender well just about a quarter to a half an inch. It needs quarter panels anyway and at the top of the wheel is where its closest and I can get my finger into the second joint about where my knuckle is. I could raise the back of the car up a little too. Probably should have got some 7 inch wheels but I think these will do for now. The guy I bought the wheels from his name is Ty Baumgartner, as you can see in the pics he has a serious chassis shop and builds funny cars and Top Fuel cars. Builds chassis and parts he has all the Jigs and all the Tooling and the CNC machines. He even has a IHRA top fuel championship first place trophy for a season well done. Here are some pics of the goodies in his shop. And pics of my car, I believe it is ready to go the only thing I'm waiting on is an okay from work to have off next Wednesday. Rumor has it that I have a dishwasher to install at Linn County School Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope not because I would like to meet up with Ralph next Wednesday night at Gateway. The only thing left is a helmet and James said I could borrow his. Cannot find a Snell SA helmets anywhere in this town so I'm going to have to get on the stick in order one quick. A couple of places I checked did not have any in stock because they're waiting on the 20 20 certification. Here are the pics........ If you want to have a top fuel rear carbon fiber wing I can hook you up for

Heres Ty's man cave, he also suggested that we can scale the car up and set the preload in it and make everything dialed in if I need any help he said "come on down"! He's about 18/20 miles away from my house.... Ty is very talented and can weld like no one I've ever seen and he has a passion for racing as you can see.....

These are pics of a chassis car"NOVA" that Ty is building he stretched the fender Wells to fit the tires and welded new quarter panels on it. He plated the inner rocker panels and welded it to the chassis.
He talked about mini tubbing my Nova, I want a street car! :waiting2: time will tell.....

Clean shop, looks like it’s all for sale it’s so clean. :bow:bow:bow Hard to believe anyone does any work in that place it’s so clean.

Bring your wallet and go as fast as you want?

Good luck on the quarter, car looking pretty serious with those Hoosiers.

I feel the love:poke just talked to James and we're going to load up the little red toolbox and head to Gateway Wednesday afternoon and meet Ralph.Oh and we're going to take the Beater nova Nova too! :brow this coming Wednesday is a test and tune night at Gateway St Louis. Going to put a super tune on it Sunday afternoon. Wishing for dry cool weather.
Don, Ty's shop always looks that way, and his work is as clean and neat as his shop! Ty has a 69 Nova with a small block in it, it's his cruising car and it is not narrowed. So when he had mentioned mini tubbing mine I said okay why don't you do yours first and we'll see how it turns out? Of course it would be nice. But he replied I just want a fun street car! And I said that's what I'm doing. can you order me a set of slicks?:confused And then he said for a street car? Yep! it's a special street car.......:good

Chris stopped by to check out Tooth's car and talked him into massaging his air cleaner lid for the MGB.

It was a fun time with good people and kool car. Can't wait to see his face after he makes his first pass down the track in this car.
Something tells me he going to want some more.
Hope we can get some good baseline date to work with. :good

Thanks James, and Chris too! The brain bucket fits good, change a couple of things on the beater Nova.Checked the tire clearance:good set the timing, drained all the antifreeze out of the radiator and block and put in water. Make sure there was no airlock by putting the bypass back in the motor from the intake to the water pump. Sets and runs excellent 180/190 all day long. I'll check the tune on the power valve tomorrow night and I've been looking into a clutch tamer. New plugs and check the adjustment on the cal- tracks. :brow Thanks again JAMES!!!!!!! I like it when you come over to check out my work and you say looks good to me! Your opinion is something that is important to me and always has been! like you always say "you do not want to be that guy"!!! ccouldn't agree with you more and thanks for the encouragement only thing left to do now is like I always say burn a tire.............:burnout
