Transmission mount question

Just another question to throw out...The transmission mount has two mounting positions. When I removed the old engine the four speed was using the lower mounting holes. The assembly manual is not clear as to which positions are used for various transmissions. Thanks.

I have always used the lower in my car with a 4 speed. I would think driveline angles would be a factor.

It's in the AIM, look in the automatic transmission RPO section and or the 4 speed section..

Found info in the assembly manual. Section 2 shows bolts in the upper holes, not stating which trans it is, I assume it is a 3 speed, being the base trans. For the 4 speed it does state using the lower holes. The auto does not state which mounting holes, but shows using the lower mounting holes..

All 61 to 64 4 speeds used the lower 2 holes.
