Hi everyone. I have the car on the lift and left myself a note to check the oil/lube in both the "P" case posi and the T-10 transmission. The rear is fine, but the T-10 seems to be a little on the dry side. I put my pinky in the hole to the 2nd digit and couldn't feel anything. Definitely going to fill it. Do I use a 90 weight oil and fill it until it comes out the hole?? About how much would it take?? This is for my '62 Impala T-10 trans. Thank you, Carmine.

Fill the rear until you can put your pinky finger in the hole to the first joint, GL 4 or GL 5 is ok. I use synthetic in my rear end, I think 85/90. The tranny would be ok using the pinky finger test too but use a GL 4 only not a GL 4-5 just GL 4. If you over fill the rear sometimes the oil will get past the axle seals and contaminate your brake pads.
