A simpler/cleaner method would be to replace the fill tube with one from an L79 327 with the pcv in the filler tube and a non vented cap.

Ok, then do I just leave the road draft tube in place? And is the breather hole in the Edelbrock intake that I have connected to the air cleaner base sufficient for all the fresh air needed for the top end?

I've got two Edelbrock intakes and don't understand how you hooked a road draft tube to it.Yes,the set up I described will handle what you want

Here is one for a 64/425. 340 is slightly different. Show-cars also has the chrome caps.

The Show Cars part uses the pcv valve in the line between the carb,the l79 screws the pcv valve into the filler neck.Both use a sealed cap.
