W Voltage Regulator Mounting

One of the tell tale signs of an original W engined car is the voltage regulator mount. The bottom mounting hole has a special rubber grommet instead of a screw like the regular production 283 cars.....ever wonder why?:scratch

I found the answer.:think

I always thought it applied to all 58's, but it looks like it was a running change later in the production year.

That was if they returned it for the service bulletin repair though wasn't it. If not wouldn't it just have the screw still? 1959's would be coming out 3 month's after the bulletin was issued. Does the bulletin apply to 59 and later or just the 58's already built.

I don't have my 58 assembly manual handy, but I seem to recall it being in there although it was probably a late change and would be noted in the legend on the bottom with the ECR date.
