What an F’d up design

Well I’m changing transmission in my 63. The new power glide is much improved ( new gear set, clutch pack, Kevlar band, input and output shafts ) the old PG didn’t like the mildly hopped up W motor.
In the midst of all these shenanigans I decided to replace the U-joints and the squishy fasteners that secure the center support to the frame. Now that I’m looking at the complete driveshaft I realize that the splined yoke is essentially stationary WTF! All of the articulation takes place at the center support. Well the obvious cure is to add a slip joint to the shaft closest to the rear end. Probably over kill but it’s what I do!
