Reminds me when I worked in a dealership and some so called rookie mechanics trying to start a engine they did some work on a engine and continually trying to start engine and it would backfire , I would yell bing,bang boom.Pissed them off . Other tech's got a chuckle.

Oe of the things I remember from my early Chevy mechanic days was the idiosyncratic oddity of Chevy V-8 engines as people assembled complete fresh engines from scratch, they would line the timing marks on the cam and crank gears, install them, put on the front cover and balancer, then drop in the distributor pointing at #1 on the distributor cap. Trying to start an engine like that resulted in pyrotechnics like that, not knowing that the alignment of the timing marks on the cam and crank gears was actually set for the #6 cylinder to fire.
