63 Impala going to attempt to put w/shield in this weekend , the front gasket has a gripper edge on the bottom I assume that goes to the outside beings the w/shield will be forced inward correct ??? ALLso the interior dash trim piece needs to be removed before w/shield is installed which I have done and then re-install after w/shield is in ? I don't have the 62 manual I have the 63 but it does not show the front gasket I have found which way to put the rear gasket in but no front . APPRECIATE THE HELP my BOWTIE BROTHERS :winner

Yes the dash strip needs to be removed, that will snap back into place easily when your done. The gasket lip gets pulled inward toward interior. Not sure about the edge you mentioned but should be easy to tell what way it faces.

Got them installed this weekend ,that was easier than I ever expected the rope trick was the bee's knee's :bow
