Question

Randy:

When you say "stripped down" do you mean without the A-arms, springs, the whole shooting works? Just the X frame?

About right!

Randy:

That sounds about right. Stripped down I was able to load the X frame onto a pickup truck to be hauled to the sand blaster's. Pretty unwieldly, but the weight isn't too bad. It's easier to handle the frame with two persons, but you can move it around by yourself if need be.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Frame Weight

Two differant frames were used.I have one of each and have had both stripped down and there is about 60 to 70 pounds of weight differance between the two.One has open channel in the rear and the other has boxed and the boxed one also seamed to be heaver in the part over and just in front of the rear axle.

The frame with the open channel rear section is the lightest and should make a better frame for drag racing.Mine are 63 models and the light frame came with a St Louis car and the Heaver frame from a Janesville car.
