Yes, it is possible to MIG weld cast-iron parts in a home garage. Here's how I did it.

My 1926 Buick had a cracked block, and the old farmer that I bought the car from stick welded it, but it always seeped anti-freeze. Not enough to cause me any problems, but enough that it would mark its parking space.
