Description:
|
Classic Purple Hornie tubular design glasspack mufflers give sound and performance gains that are more than impressive--they're wild. 16-gauge, 3-1/2" diameter steel shell encloses an interior spiral louver baffle design that increases exhaust velocity while decreasing back pressure, projecting sound waves into a temperature fibermat material. 18" case length with 2-1/4" slip-fit or three different styles of 3" three-hole direct-header-mount designs. Decreases back pressure, boosts horsepower. Spiral louver design core, distinctive Purple finish.

I've always wanted to try these mufflers. These were supposedly popular back in the 60's-70's. (may have been a different manufacturer then)
I replaced a pair of worn out Cherry bomb glass packs with these on my 69 Chevy truck w/350. Right out of the box, they are much louder than the "blown out" bombs I took off.
If you like 'em loud, these are for you. While I will use them, I don't think I will buy these again due to the loudness.
Fit and finish was great and I love the built in header flange! Wish more manufacturers would have that.
I bought mine from Summit racing parts as it was the best price I could find but they are available at many other places.
