    409 Headers on a 62

    Alternator Mount We used factory mounts from show cars on 63 409 with edelbrock polished headers works perfect. picture in previous post 409 cooling problems.

    Current The rad. i have now is for a SB. and on the fans 10's are pushers and 14 is puller. Looks like we'll try a Griffen prob.

    We have a 63 Impala with a 409. Having problems at idle with overheating runs about 205-210. We have a stock 3 core radiator with 2-10"e-fans and 1-14"e-fan any suggestions on a fix oh and here are some pics of our project swap from 327 to 409. Thanks

    Starter Problems

    Flywheel I'm using the original equipment flywheel when you look it up in the ac-delco book well count the teeth in a bit when we get it back out! It's 153 Tooth so that's that what application do i need to use to get the proper 168 tooth flywheel. and will a OE 11" disc still fit it? Thanks...

    Starter Problems

    I have 409 with the 552 Bellhousing and the original equipment style starter bolted to the bellhousing but my starter drive doesn't contact the flywheel! I have a new 388017 AC-Delco Flywheel. Has anyone been in this problem and know the solution?

    327-409 Swap

    We are doig a 327 to 409 swap In a 63 Impala just wondering what all is needed. I now springs, and the obvious but what about motor mounts, radiator, fans, bellhousing, driveshaft etc. thanks!!!
