    Any T-10 Guru's??? Need Help ID'ing a T-10

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I found out that it is a wide ratio. It does have a fine spline, (27), output shaft, though. At least it has that going for it, (and it's not a PowerGlide,:D ) It looks like this was a change for 1964. I've been told that quite often the later fine spline main...

    Any T-10 Guru's??? Need Help ID'ing a T-10

Thank's Tic's 60. :cheers:bow:beerbang I had found the first link, but it was only for Super T-10's. However, I hadn't found the second, and it looks like my trans is a 2:20 low, close ratio, for an early 1964, (with high nickel content). I'm basing this off of the tailshaft splines. It has...

    Any T-10 Guru's??? Need Help ID'ing a T-10

I just found a Borg Warner T-10, and could use some help ID'ing it. I did try a search on here, a Google search, and a search on some other message boards, but didn't find anything. It definitely has a GM bellhousing pattern, although it could be Pontiac, or an Olds. It has the following date...

    1959 quarter panels

As far as the lower, outer quarter panel (from the top edge of the fin on down and from the door pillar back), one from either a 2dr ht. , 2dr sed. , or convert should work (2dr wagons and El Caminos are different). GM parts books from 1960 lists these as all the same replacement part number...

Swapping to manual steering on '63

Your Welcome. That's the reason I put one in my 59, so it would out corner a Vette. :rofl :rofl :rofl

    Coil springs

I ordered mine from a local auto parts place. However, I did make sure that they were Moog and Made in the USA. At first, I ordered a set from Eaton ( 1 inch drop rear springs ). I figured that they would be custom made, with the ends formed like the original springs, so they would fit down...

Swapping to manual steering on '63

I have a 59 PS steering box in my 59 (with manual steering). I swapped it in to quicken the steering up a bit. If I remember right, I used the manual steering arm and center link. It's been over 10 years since I put it in my car, so the memory is a little fuzzy. :? However I'm pretty sure...

    Friends magazine

My parents used to recieve Friends, back in the 60's. I'm pretty sure that they came from dealerships, and were sent to the dealers regular customers. They still have a few copies, some from Bombergers Chevrolet in Polo Ill. and some from Gene Wrestler Chevrolet in Canton Ill. (both of which...

What are the exact differences in distributors

I think it's just the length that's different with a smallblock dist. When I was putting my 348 together, I could'nt find a good 348 dist. so I used parts from a small block one to fix the 348 one. The only part used from the 348 dist. was the housing. I used the vac. advance, mechanical...

Anybody do their own headliner and seat covers?

On the headliner, it helps to install any mounting screws for the visors, coat hooks, or anything that mounts through the headliner, in their holes before installing the headliner. They don't need to be screwed all the way in, just far enough to stay in place. With these screwed in first, it...

    Say it ain't so!!!

If you decide to go with an aftermarket one, Moon sells a old style one, if thats what you're looking for. It looks alot like a sun tach for a 62 Chevy. In my 2003 catalog it listed for about $70 (including cup and mounting bracket). The bad part is that the cup and most of the tach itself...
