    Split Rims

My dad was working in a tire shop in the early 70's (large chain) and was working on one of these things. He was airing it up as he had his knees on the tire. He says that the last thing he remembers is taking off the air chuck, checking the pressure and then putting the air back to it...

1955-1970 full size-what year is your least favorite?

I must say I'm a little surprised to see only one vote for 'em

    '62 on "Overhaulin'"

That thing turned out pretty good though. I've got to say that I liked it. I got a kick out of when they kept calling the Impala 4 door hardtop a Belair. :rofl :doh

1955-1970 full size-what year is your least favorite?

I've never heard the '64 being described as an ugly duckling. This is blowing my mind. :? They've always been one of my favorites. It's so funny how different everybody's opinions are. Not that anyone cares, but here's the way I would break down the '58-'64's from favorite on down.... 1)62...

    Cool idea?

Not that I'm knocking your idea at all here but what's wrong with a Chevy II or even a Chevelle? Stuffing a big block in one of those would be a lot less work and when you're done, if you ever decide to sell it, it would be easier. I'm all about doing off-the-wall stuff, but I was just curious.

    348 $$$ ???

Thanks for all of the replies. That gives me a pretty good idea.

    348 $$$ ???

I was just wondering what I could expect to pay for a complete, rebuildable 348. A friend of my dad's has about three of them and I have an oppurtunity to acquire one of them for my '53 project. I would like to get a ball park figure of what they are worth.

    Overhaulin'

Tim Allen is a car nut himself and I am pretty sure that he would not allow for a Nomad in that kind of condition to be crushed. I would say special effects were probably used in that episode. I may be wrong though.

    Overhaulin'

I guess there are two ways to look at this. Yeah, they drove it until it overheated causing engine damage. But on the other hand, how many thousands of dollars worth of work did they get on the car for free? People amaze me.
