Listen to the racing video that was posted on the car with the volume turned up and look and listen closely......You will be a 6.12 believer! Of course that 8 second run was when Dick had the carbs correct:roll :roll :roll
Jim posted the video on page one

That car is truly amazing! A real flyer, for sure !

I'd love to see it up close, and run, but could not, due to prior commitment's
this week-end. Bummer ! Good weather, too!

So, that 62's got a "09" TRUCK block, and can wind up to 9500 RPM ?
Did I read that right ? :dunno

I don't mean to take away from the car but it is a "pro stock" motor thus being big block lineage but interesting runner as the video shows when Dick puts his mind to it(being the crew chief and chief gopher:roll ):D :D Dick can fill in the details when they get back. The 55 IS a 409 and looks great and runs great. Check out below because we love pictures here.

The following pictures are from the NSCA Finals in Columbus. I’d like to give credit to whoever took them but I’m not sure who it was. I believe it was Mark Walter of JAMA racing who posted them on the NSCA web site.

Nostalgia Super Stock
Gerry Gostenic the only 409 guy able to make the show qualified 3rd with 11.762 at 113.83 MPH :clap
I didn’t find a picture of Gerry from Columbus, this one is from Thompson OH.

Paul Adams No. 1 Pro Nostalgia qualifier with an 8.746 at 152.19 MPH :evil

Jim MacKenzie Qualified 2nd with an 8.793 at 151.87 MPH

Jim check valves or doing something I’ll probably find out about later. :roll
Sat-8.JPG

Russ Campbell Qualified 3rd with an 8.839 at 154.53 MPH
Sat-244.JPG

I would guess, based on Russ’ MPH that he is having problems with his short times and once he gets the suspension line he’s good for another 10th or 15 hundredths at least. This weekend Russ is running a BBC in his 62 Belair. He also has a BIG 09 block that is good for low 9s. :brow

Tic's,
I don't have any idea about the pinion angles, but I'll see what I can find out for you. The car was build by Lamar for Jim Sellers back in 1994. There are a ton of changes to the frame and chassis. It's just legal for the class and actually won best engineered car in 1995 with NMCA.
