A 62 with 235 and ironglide weighed quite a bit more than a 409 4 speed. Phil recommends Moog 6004's for the front, I forget what he said for rears. This is the 6004's on the front, had stock original rears, and a 409 4 speed.

Any pictures of your ride?

I only have an old faded, poor quality, picture on my refrigerator handy. Have some others packed away, but they won't be a whole lot better. I never did invest in a decent camera back then, like I wish I did. This was back in '69 or '70. The car was off the road from '71 to '74 and not long after I dropped in a 396, 4-Speed, I sold it in '75.

If you look on line, you get some variations in weights but a 235 weighed 620 or 630, about the same as a 348/409, the small blocks were about 40 lbs lighter.

The ironglide weighed about 100 lbs more than a manual tranny and I think the aluminum glide weighs about the same as a manual tranny. That's dressed weight with bell housing, clutch, torque converter flex plate, etc. The stock torque converter in my 59 IG weighed at least 50 lbs.
