Finished the throttle pedal, put in the rear pig, and driveshaft. Still waiting on brake calipers. Brake pedal nearly done. Going to check the chassis and axles one more time for square. Set caster, and toe tomorrow after work. Every day a little more.
Brakes done, got harness, blower restraint, blower belt guard, and parachute. Chassis is square, caster at 18 degrees, and 1/8 toe. Now have to mount all this new stuff.
Yes sir, getting arm restraints when I order my suit. I will run the car even though the upholstery is not done. I have seen this fellas work, and I think he is worth the wait. I would really like the tonneau cover done, but oh well. I’ve waited this long.
Slipped off to Union Grove for a couple of runs. Car drives perfect, but had a sputter off and on. Turns out the new msd coil was failing. New coil this morning and all is well. Easy launch, foot brake 11.1 at 125 mph. Pulls good. Just need to hook up the transbrake and maybe a little more gear. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Runs straight as a string, and stops great. Ran a touch warm 160-180 on the return road and back to the pits. It was 94 degrees and high humidity. Things are looking up.
