    Curt Harvey contact info:

To all the members of the board and to Cookie Harvey I do sincerely apologize for my lapse of decorum regarding the posting of contact information for someone that truly had nothing to do with my problems. I can only regretfully admit my mistake and offer this apology although I do wish I could...

    Curt Harvey contact info:

I had a really bad experience with him that cost me thousands of dollars. I have tried for years to get in touch with him to see if we could work out something but to no avail. I have talked with his ex-wife as I know she is in contact with him and asked her as nicely as possible to please have...

Thanks Guys for the advice and offers of help. I'm exhausted and am going to button it up for now as we are in the GNRS in Pomona the end of this month and I'll get ahold of you fellas that offered to help then. If you go to the show stop by the Circle City Hot Rods booth (main bldg) and...

Please Read - clarification of builder ViBrAtIoN thread

I posted a question recently about a Vibration and could it be the balancer? It seems that there has been some assumption as to the builder of this motor and I would like to say that he IS NOT from Northern California. I'm sorry Jack if my omission of the builders name led anyone to suspect...

    ViBrAtIoN - Wrong Balancer??

Is this a possibility............. I'm running a magneto and I don't believe that I gapped the plugs down to .018 but may have installed them out of the box at .035 -.040 which would be waaaay huge. Could the engine vibration appear at 2 grand when it is not noticeable at idle? I'm away from the...

    ViBrAtIoN - Wrong Balancer??

A little more information - I received the motor from the distracted builder, actually I drove to his house while he was moving out of it, and basicly grabbed my motor out of the shop, but that's a whole story in itself, but there was no balancer (dampner) and no flywheel. I bought a stock...

    ViBrAtIoN - Wrong Balancer??

Fresh build 348 stroker, 427 crank built by somebody that should know what their doing but was under a lot of personal stress so ?? Running a Hunt magneto Got the motor back without a balancer so , I myself, thinking if I'm going to shell out for one I might as well go for the high performance...

Help!-installing PCV in new edelbrock 2x4- Solution??

I don't know Mark. I've always been told that the air entering and the air drawn out should be as distant as possible in a PCV system. Air moving through the valve covers seems like it is going to remove moisture and gases from these areas whereas air moving front to rear in the galley would...

Help!-installing PCV in new edelbrock 2x4- Solution??

And since I really don't want a tube coming out of my covers, I would think I could put old school (God I hate that term) breathers on that would dress up the covers and then run a non-vented oil fill tube with a hose running off of it to a carb. Right? Would it make any difference if it was the...

Help!-installing PCV in new edelbrock 2x4- Solution??

You know, I just got to thinking, that system isn't even a viable PCV. Fresh air is taken in from the oil tube breather at the front of the galley, flows a foot back to the pickup at the rear of the manifold.......there's no circulation anywhere but just under the manifold. Right? Instead of...

Help!-installing PCV in new edelbrock 2x4- Solution??

I understand the new Edelbrock 2x4 manifolds are no longer drilled for a grommeted pcv valve in the rear. Is the boss still there so I can drill it? I can probably fabricate a baffel instead of installing a repo tray but can I even get to the galley area without hitting the intake? Can I then...

Z-11 bare block found, Is it worth anything :)

Thanks Mark, Nevermind.......I didn't know about the QM stamp and the front pass pad is blank. Just took the paint off, it was like a "scratcher" lottery ticket and just like the ticket...nada. Well heck a '63 409 block that I didn't have yesterday...still sweet. Terry

Z-11 bare block found, Is it worth anything :)

I just picked this up. Casting # 3830814 Date J12. Looks stock but I haven't measured it yet. Freeze plugs were knocked out, cam bearings still in, missing main caps. So if the machine shop says she's good, what have I got? I've got to get rid of it before I start searching for aluminum fenders...
