    Tell me what I got...

It is the sediment bowl. My 64 409 340 has one too. It's slightly different. Unfortunately I've had problems with both of them leaking.

    Tell me what I got...

It's a 63 Biscayne barn find. I bought it from the origian owner. However, he had sold it years ago to a neighbor who drove it and blew up the original 409 motor and put a small block in it. The original owner eventually bought it back and put a 409 back in it. He told me it has the good 425 HP...

    Aluminum Heads

Sorry guys, I'm getting old. I'm doing a build on a 409 and was considering the Edelbrock aluminum heads. There was a guy from northern Indiana that manufactures heads and sent his contact info and we talked for an hour or so. I'd like to talk to him again but lost the contact. Can somebody help...

They are still out there! I picked up 409 Truck Motor and bunch of parts this past weekend

I'd like the aluminum heads and intake. I have some NOS heads with valves and a dual quad intake but I think it's an offenhouser

    409 build

Summit Racing lists 2 cranks for 409 motors with a 4" stroke. Is that feasible? Is there enough clearance for that. I have a truck motor and want to build a street / strip motor.

    Mutiple carb questions.

I'm thinking of running the Edelbrock performer aluminum heads and about 11:1 pistons. I need cam recommendations too but probably a roller cam. I'd like to pair it up with a 4 speed trans. Thanks again.

    Mutiple carb questions.

I'm planning to build a multi carb 409 for a show car. I might run it down the drag strip a time or two just for kicks, but it'll be a lightly driven street & show car. It'll be going in a 62 Nova Gasser. The motor is a truck motor that I'm picking up next week and will be tearing down so I'll...

    Rochester Carb.

I'm going to pull the carb again today. I didn't get to it yesterday.

    Rochester Carb.

It looks like the whole front of the carb is wet and when you look in the air horn down the top of the carb fuel is dumping in the engine. The floats in this carb are very large and adjustment is made by bending which is I'm afraid the problem. The fit into the body is very tight and the...

    Rochester Carb.

Bummed out. I took it apart again, tweeked the float, put it back together and on the car. Same problem. I thought about fuel pressure because I had the return line disconnected but reconnected it on the reinstall and again, dumping gas all over. I'm body man, not a mechanic but I've rebuilt...

    Rochester Carb.

Who is the go to guy to call about problems with a Rochester carb? It's my 64 340 HP original carb and I got a kit for it and soaked and cleaned the carb, put in the new accelerator pump, gaskets, set the floats, etc... and have fuel leaking all over. Who can I call?

How do you beef up a 409 truck motor?

Guys, I'm a 409 novice. You may have seen my 64 project. It's a 340 horse all original car that will stay that way. I do like customs though too and have a possible opportunity to pick up a truck motor and thinking it might be fun to build a hot rod 409 motor to put in my 62 Chevy II gasser. (or...
