Thanks y’all, this answers my question.

    Valve sizes

Thank you.. thought of offering 1200. I’m more concerned that 2.25 intake valves would be getting a little thin

I’m looking at a set of 817 heads with 2.25/1.75 valves. Fella wants 2k for them. They have some bowl work and porting, nothing exotic. This seems kind of biggish, for valves in this head. Any red flags? I’m building a truck block based stroker. Shooting for 500-550 hp. Thanks y’all..

I think everyone used Day automotive, as they’re renowned for W’s, but when I called they basically said they are trying to get out of the business, unless I misunderstood.

yeah I bought it in ft worth. Took me awhile to find a rust free car. I wanted a Belair or biscayne as well. I also wanted a 64 so it would be the same year as my motor.

Thanks! Yes, I need machine work done, and the -333 heads done (pockets, screw in studs, bigger valves, etc... my plan is an honest 500-550 on e85. That way I can source fuel from the same place as i do for my gasser, my grand national, and my model A.

I’m in Lawrence.. maybe you guys can tell me who to have put my motor together. Day Automotive told me no, that Tony was getting out of the business.

New guy here from KC area.. I race nostalgia drags. Have an FE powered model A, a 1960 falcon gasser, and I’m starting on a 1964 Belair superstocker.. it was a 283/glide car and I have a 1964 409 truck motor I’m building. I’ll pair it with a built glide that I have.
