    Parts Suppliers in LA

Nate Another supplier I used for my '62 was C.A.R.S. West (Fullerton east of LA). I purchased over $4000 worth over two yrs. I gave the orders and they just "put it in with the rest of the orders" and I pd no shipping from Michigan. I have heard that CARS sheetmetal is one of the better...

Super Chevy 1988 '62 BelAir Sports Coup

While I was at an antique store last Saturday I saw and purchased a 1988 Super Chevy Mag. It caught my eye because on the front cover was a dk blue '62 Belair Sports Coup. The mag was full of articles related to the up-coming 409 racers. I scanned some of the articles and hope the forum will...

    How to protect bare metal

From my experience, I strip the paint a section at a time (fender, hood etc.) not the whole car unless you have a very dry environment, clean real well, and spray on self etching primer. Don't wait too long before priming. Soda blasting cleans well but dosn't preserve the metal.

    Testing the BIG pictures

Great looking '62!!!!! Back in the day....mid '60s it seemed every car guy in CA had a '55 chevy 2dr post. I had one too. Yes, they all had blk steelies and no caps. I think it was because the car looked a little too "dressed up" for a real hot rod. Besides, who could afford those expensive mag...

    Found a '62 Parts Car

Bill the car you sold me is perfectly fine. It is under a carport w/cover on jack stands waiting for me. I purchased another Bubbletop a yr ago off ebay ($4050). It is a second owner since 1966. He is from NJ; the car is a Terrytown build. Rust..of course. That is what makes it a challenge. He...

    Found a '62 Parts Car

I found this parts car a while back that had been sitting since 1974 for $500. The body, frame and floors have absolutely no rust. No moisture out here!! I didn't even notice that it is a factory ac car until I got it home (30mi.). The pass. side vent was there and all parts under the dash...

    62 Bel Air Rear Seat

I just went thru this with my '62 Bubbletop. The Impala 2dr. Sports Coupe rear seat (btm and back) will fit a '62 BelAir Sports Coupe. I had a '62 BelAir 4dr. btm and it was about 6 inches too long.

Where was Cecil August 14, 1950

Cecil That same airplane was a Navy transport here in CA back in 1957. I was ten (you do the math) in Taft, CA. It was late one summer night and I looked out our window and saw all these lights from an airplane circling the Taft airport. The hummm from those motors I will ever remember. I...
