My favorite shift knobs are the ones that look like they have been used for 40 some years.
Otherwise rubbing compound as mentioned, but don't try and make it new, just clean it up a bit.

I knew I wasn't alone. I always have what ever I need for my 66 Chevelle. My family laughs at me, No matter what I can usually find a replacement part in my stash.

Wow, I have saved too much stuff over the years.
This is most of it (hubcaps/wheels), there is more.

Would anybody here know if a factory 14 x 6 steel wheel from 59-61??? Chevrolet will clear the factory disc brake calipers on a 1968 Chevelle? I know somebody with a 68 Chevelle who could use a spare tire for his car. Will my wheel work on the 68 Chevelle?

I know this is not the same thing but this thread reminded me of this 59 Impala with a custom removable hardtop that I saw recently. This one is actually pretty cool, not hideous looking like the 61 mentioned above.
