I have the 3 build sheets, the original sales receipt, the stickers for the front and rear carpet and a window sticker I had made from the sales receipt. Poocho

    Original Window Stickers

Close up of sheet. Maybe they are not build sheets. Some kind of broadcast sheet maybe. Found one under rear seat, one in rear side window panel and one in rear upper back seat. Poocho

I found 3 of them in my 64. One was stuck inside the rear side window panel. Poocho

    electric fan switch

I would think that would be the coolest point for the water temp. In order to get a temp. as close to your real engine temp., the sensor should be as close to the top return hose as possible. It is very possible there is 20 degrees difference in that temp. and the temp of the engine gauge. Poocho

How do you listen to mp3's in your cars?

Bob, on the radios which have a cassette player, you can buy an adapter which plugs into the cassette for less than $5. You then plug the cable from the adapter into your mp3 player. On FM radios with no cassette, I believe you can buy an mp3 player with an FM transmitter. This outputs a FM...

If your push rods are correct, I would adjust the valves as above in the Crane article. Adjust to zero preload (where you can spin the push rod easily with your fingers) and go 1/2 turn more on all of the lifters. Let the engine set for an hour (lets the lifters bleed down if they were pumped to...

Pumping up the lifters prior to installation is not recommended by any of the cam suppliers that I know of. This can lead to problems on initial cranking and trying to adjust the preload of the lifters properly. From Comp Cams: "It is not necessary to “pre-pump” hydraulic lifters full of...

That number is just a core number isn't it? Did you have it ground to your specifications? When you say you preloaded before firing it up, exactly what method did you use to do that. If you really have hydraulic lifters, they should bleed down after you turn down the adjusting nut. They may...

    Head gasket questions

It wasn't just the 62s which had two gaskets on the high performance 409s. I believe all of HP 409s had two. Correct me if I'm wrong. Poocho

That is actually Gloria DeHaven. It's actually a publicity still from the 1949 film Yes Sir, That's My Baby starring Donald O'Connor and, pictured in a bathing suit, Gloria DeHaven. DeHaven, born in 1925, was 24 years old when the photo was taken. Frances Bavier, born in 1902, would have been...

    Car price/options cost

I wonder why they showed Super Sport as an option on the receipt? In 1964, Super Sport was not an option to the Impala, it was a completely different model number. I have never seen it shown as an option on a receipt or window sticker. Just curious. Poocho

    Question on emblem??

Dac62, being the original owner and buying it from the original owner are very different. With all due respect, I don't believe you will find many people that have been following the 61-64 Chevy cars for any length of time will buy what you are saying, without a build sheet. For quite some time...
