Thank you ALL ! Great information and I will do some serious notching .. can I ask another question ? When i set the motor down it was apparent that the stock manifolds are not going to work .. what works . Do they make shorty headers like for a SBC ?

My first BBC build is a 348 into a 1964 El Camnio ...I have a truck engine so oil pan will not work ..so my question is would a later BBC bolt up ? Thanks Dan

Phil , so it was basically just like my 216/235 Stovebolt engines they just filtered the crankcase gas to the road . I almost ended up with the wrong "Show cars " company [ some fiberglass deal that tends to be unreliable ] So thanks for the good info ... Dan

I finally obtained a 348 and getting things ready for a 2019 install . I have a question about this whole in the back of engine , on my older 283/327 there was something like it on top in the back is this a crankcase breather of some sort ? Same as small block ? can you supply a link and or...
