Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

Thank you! Would the Permatex High Temp Thread Sealant be a good choice to seal the bolts?

Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

Man I can't catch a break. Ok, on Tuesday I sent out the Impala to put on the newly acquired 2.5" exhaust manifolds (stepped up from 2") with all new 2.5" exhaust pipe and new 18" Magniflow mufflers. Picked car up today and it ran great all the way home and nice and cool. I should also mention...

Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

Keith Black forged pistons .040. and 9.8 to 1 compression. Not sure of the deck clearance.

Sorry, I misspoke. I have 310 HP at the flywheel not the rear wheels.

Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

Its funny. The engine builder went to comp cams with all the specs of the engine and the cam that was selected was their recommendation for mild street car. Its actually a custom grind based on what Comp Cams said it should be. Ive noticed it is very close to some of there off the shelf cam...

Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

I think I would have to fill the water passages on the Edelbrock heads as my current block and heads do not have the cooling for the spark plugs. I have an Edelbrock intake so I think I could keep my Intake. My cams is less aggressive then your at 516/512 with 113 lsa.

Edelbrock heads on early 348 Block

I have a 1958 Impala with early 348 block and early heads with no spark plug cooling. The engine has the Scat 4" stroke, Edelbrock small port intake, stock early small port heads with bigger valves 2.07/1.72. Mild roller Cam and MSD throttle body fuel injection. My question is, can I put...

    efi for 348

I am late to the party but the proof is in the pudding. I have a 58 Impala with a stroked 348 engine and am running the MSD Atomic fuel injection unit. The reason I went with the MSD is because it's the only system that allows you to not have to run a return line back to the tank or have to have...

Oil sucking into air cleaner into engine.

Don, I'm having the same issue. When you say a baffled tube what exactly do you mean? A tube with some sort of splash guard to keep the oil from going up?

    Valve cover breathers????

Ok, then do I just leave the road draft tube in place? And is the breather hole in the Edelbrock intake that I have connected to the air cleaner base sufficient for all the fresh air needed for the top end?

    Valve cover breathers????

I have a 1958 Impala with 348 engine stroked to 434 ci. When running high rpm's or really getting on it I get a fair amount of oil blasting out of the front oil fill tube. The oil gets splattered up under the hood pretty bad. This does not happen when normal cruising just when I really step on...
