    I've got this noise.....

I had a carrier bearing go out on me not long ago, thought it was the exhaust knocking until i took a left hand turn and something sounded like it was going to rip the car apart. I took hold of the front of the driveshaft and started flopping it about. The housing itself snapped clean in half...

Loving the air cleaner. Last 60 said it best, it's a car, it was built to drive and enjoy.

    Radiator advice

The Griffin radiator I ordered a few years back to help keep the motor cool had fitment issues with the filler neck. What I found was that the tabs on the bottom were in the way too big and the radiator wouldn't sit in all the way. So after cutting a slight bit of the bottom corners away and...

How's the lid been going? I know you mentioned you were going to redesign it to look more authentic.

    Cam replacement

You can call me Travis, and I think i've decided i'm gonna settle on a set of Edelbrock heads. From what i've heard you can't go wrong with them, plenty of bang for your buck. Lamar sells a single piece 690 intake that has a similar style to the 2-piece intake. As far as cams go I'll probably...

    Cam replacement

I probably should've specified M22 Wide Ratio, 2.56 1st gear to wind up in low. There's even an M22Z 5speeds sells with a 2.99 1st. I have a close ratio M21 now, I was originally going to wait and see what they planned to do about the Syracuse 5 speed they were talking about sometime back. If...

    Cam replacement

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to keep this in mind! I'm a manual guy all the way, I was planning on investing on a M-22 Muncie sometime down the line. Right now i'm just trying to get my figures straight. My aim is to try and get the look and feel of a Z-11 motor (Not sure about the 13.5...

    Cam replacement

I've been doing a little looking around myself, any opinions on this cam? http://www.cranecams.com/product/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=24432 Interesting they have it listed as MK VII I could've sworn the Z-11 was a MK I or MK Is. The numbers don't look too bad, I've never talked with anyone...

1962 cowl ducted air cleaner z-11

Oh I understand that myself, just throwing suggestions out there. Clearance with the distributor and plugs is the issue i'd be concerned with. Otherwise the firewall has plenty of space to cut into for a proper induction setup. With what i've currently got I'd have a very small space to work...

1962 cowl ducted air cleaner z-11

I think Spectre makes a air box kit similar to that used on the nascar engines. If I recall it's the one that heads straight back into the cowl, it's not a bad idea but on the chevy engines nascar uses the distributor is mounted on the front. Otherwise it'd probably get in the way.

Thanks for the suggestions! What about Tom Jacobson? or Carolina Thunder? I'm not sure when the Carolina started racing but i've got a few shots of it that seem a little older.
