Somewhere I have a picture of Bob Walla, all 120 pounds of him, holding an aluminum block next to the trailer of Jim & Jim of Phantom409 fame :) :):). Did that block make it's way into the '61 Pontiac? Was that Thompson 2010?

Yep. I also remember Bob carrying the block but didn’t take a photo until you and Jim quit drooling on it!
Good comment Tom as I also think the Pontiac got one of them. I don’t think he had one but George Allen was very lingering

This block was actually machined by Paul Wright of Akron. He and his partner did many blocks, including the alloy ZL-1 Yenko blocks, Wayne Cuonty Pro-Stock Mopar block and several others. He did an aluminum SBC for GM in the late 50's, or early 60's. At his shop he showed me the billet aluminum 09 crank he made. Sharp guy. Miss him a lot.
