12" disc brake conversion

I've been working on a front disc brake conversion using the latest generation camaro/ 5th gen. corvette caliper and rotors on my 58 Spindles. I mocked up a bracket using 1/4 inch plywood. I just got my brackets back from the machine shop today and everything bolted together great.

The rotors are 12 inch, calipers 2 piston PBR calipers, these calipers are a step up from what is used in most the Baer kits. The Baer kits typically use the smaller piston 4th generation corvette rotors.

To get it to work you need to machine approx. 1/4 inch off the top drum brake mounting boss, machine approx. 1/8 off the hub so the rotor will slip over and machine a fraction of an inch off the hub center. I actually did the "machining" with a 4 grinder.

I've did this conversion on my 67 Lemans vert. and the results were impressive. I run 17's on my Lemans and the 58 will have 18's. I think 16's are required at a minimum.
