1961 fender question

Quick question for those of you who know the 1961 passenger car front fenders. Are those partitions at the front of the fender attached via spot welds, or are they just buttered up and slid together?

I'm stripping the front fenders (and trunk and hood, already did the body and the doors) or my 1961 Belair Sport Coupe. Also, what's a good way to finish off the inner side of those fenders?

Best,
TomK

Tom,
Those are the filler panels. Looks like you have all the bolts out so now you just need to pry them away from the buttle rubber used to seal them up.

Third.
Both of those filler panels appear to be in very good condition. They are usually rusted. Very hard to find in good condition.
You are ahead of the game with those. I use Zero-Rust on my inner panels. Or, maybe you could just have them powder coated.
