Butch Shultz sent me an email asking for correct information for the 61-62 409 generators. Told him I had an original one for my 62 BA wagon. So thought I'd post pictures here for if anyone could use these for reference. The correct number is 1102268 and the date on mine is 2 F 30.....June 30, 1962. These generators are 35amp, not 30amp; the end frames are cast iron...not aluminum(also notice the 2 humps and the outer diameter of the front); the end frames have bearings for the armature, not bushings; and the end frames are solid mount not rubber bushings. The 62 409 used a 3 5/8" diameter pulley. This generator was for the 62 409 and 62 Corvette 327 with special high performance and fuel injection.

The 1102173 from 60-61 looks identical to the 268 but has a different armature.
The 1102174 is identical to the 173 but has a rubber bushing front mount.

I had a 61 Corvette and the drive was off the generator, didn't realize they changed to the distributor in 62>

Bill,
That's not a Corvette generator nor is it a 1102041 as he claims. the 041 is a 56 pass PS gen and is otherwise identical with the 1102043 Corvette gen except for the number....same end frames.
The one pictured is a 1102115 for 58-59 pass car and truck with power steering.
These 115's are commonly found on Corvettes though as replacements and work just fine but the difference is the end frames. The CL distance between the mounting hole and the armature is 3.5" on the 115 generator and 3.25 on the 043.
Here's the difference on the rear end frame. the fronts are different also .attachment.jpg

The 250 hp hydraulic lifter fuelies distributor only drove the fuel pump while the tach was still driven off the generator.
The solid lifter fuelies distributor drove both fuel pump and gen.

The solid lifter fuelies distributor drove both fuel pump and gen.

But, in 62 they only made the 360 horse fuel car.
