Not as complicated as Bob's current 1963 project, but I've been slowly chipping away at my 1962 Belair sedan, one of the two cars pictured in the June 2009 Calendar. She was repainted Ermine White maybe 10-15 years ago, over the original Twilight Blue/ Ermine White two tone. Right now she's in satin Black sealer . Got her smoothed out and spent last night taping her up in the garage, then rolled her out in the driveway and layed down a coat of sealer on the smoothed surfaces.
Still have to do that flip side of the hood and trunk lid, along with the two doors. Hopefully that will happen Friday morning. This stage of body prep is still fun, but I haven't had to block much yet. That comes next. Plans are to build up the surface with a sprayable Polyester filler, then block sand like a madman. Might need a couple of iterations of that to get it real straight . Where's Brian when you need him?
No big hurry, but I did want to get it sealed before I took off next week. Looks like I'll still be working on this in September and October .
Enjoy!
