Guy's, Thompson's about 1 1/2 hours from our summer cottage so I'll bust out my original '67 Corvette and take a spin over. So, who's car can I drive this time? I'll bring some 8X10's of my old Z-11 to pass out to the die-hard-W-heads!

Add one more car, 2 new guys!

I just got off the phone with Charlie Kuenster, I met he and his son Jerry in St. Louis past year and asked them to consider Thompson. Jerry goes by "Smokn59Hrdtp" on this Forum, you've probably noticed him. Jerry won't be able to join us by his Dad, Charlie, and brother Danny are bringing their 1959 El Camino to race. Of course it's got a 409, aand it's pretty fast as I recall . So add two more to the roster, if you will Jim!

I need to get some hospitality info to Charlie (hotels options) and I plan to do that through Jerry, who uses the computer a bit (Charlie confesses he's an analog man!).

These guys will fit right in, they're a lot of fun like us!

Bummer about the inability to reserve spaces, I might come straight there Thursday night with James and get a spot. Pretty sure I'll be in the '62SS car, but one never knows!

Gordon, I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up on things. The NMCA in the 90's? I don't think I remember the 90's. Gordon's right "we don't have to destroy someone's to have fun ourselves." FYI...Susan and I won't make it to Thompson this year....we don't have a dog for the hunt. We are in the process of selling the red belair. I'm confident the car will be in attendance. It's going to someone most of us know....but I'll let him make the announcement. If anyone is interested I still have two really nice motors left....at bargin basement prices...roughly half price. You guys need to lean on Gordon a bit to get him to the race....he'ld add to the show...and besides he's good company. Cheers Russ

Motel

For those of you on a budget, like me I just made reservations at at Motel 6 for $56 per day. I stayed there last year when it was a Howard Johnsons and the Motel is easy to get to and the Motel is 12 miles from the dragway. Here's a link

I'm sure the family will enjoy it for many years to come....just like we did....I guess we raced that particular car for over 15 years.
