340 HP 409 ENGINE

I want to replace my cast iron original intake manifold with an aluminum edelbrock (part# 7158) and maybe add some headers too. I recently replaced my intake gaskets and forgot how heavy the cast iron intake is. I will not be racing or plan on turning this 409 into a beast, just wanna add some horses. I have the original heads on it now and have a 1406 edelbrock carburetor. Will the aluminum edelbrock intake mount right on without any modifications? What type and brand of headers should I get? Thanks guys for your help!

Yes,the aluminum intake is pretty much a bolt on,and is a definate power adder. As to headers,Show-Cars sells a set of Jardine small tube tri y headers that would be perfect for this application. Now lets talk about a small hyd flat tappet cam, while the intake is off. :crazy:rub:think:crazy :welcome2

Jardine is the one for HP. Doug's is the one for fit. My Doug's tri-y's fit without a nick, but give up some HP to the Jardines. Takes some fitting on the Jardines though.
